Manoj Tiwari also known as Mridul was born in Atarwalia, Bihar on 1 February, 1971 in a small village in Kaimur district of Bihar. His father Chandra Deo Tiwari and mother Lalita Devi. He has five siblings. Manoj Tiwari has completed his education from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a Master degree in Physical Education.

Manoj Tiwari was married to Rani Tiwari but got divorced in 2012. They have a girl child.

He started his career as a singer in Bhojpuri films. He worked as a singer in Bhojpuri cinema in the year 1993 for almost ten years. He has worked as a singer in so many Bhojpuri films and in many Bhojpuri albums.

He debuted in movie “Sasura Bada Paise Wala” in the year 2003 and it was commercially very successful. After this commercially successful movie he got several offer in Bhojpuri cinema and became very popular. The film was made with a budget of Rs. 40 lakh and raked in close to Rs. 5 crore at the box office. The Bihar Jharkhand Motion Picture Association saw this production as being a turning point for Bhojpuri cinema. Sasura Bada Paise Wala followed by another two successful films Daroga Babu I Love You and Bandhan Toote Na in the year 2005. He also sang the songs for all his films, including the highly popular E Ladki Hiya High Voltage Current Mareli from Sasura Bada Paisa Wala.

Manoj Tiwari 1st Hindi movie was Deshdrohi in 2008. He directed the movie Hello Darling in 2010.

Manoj Tiwari has hosted many shows like Nehle Pe Dehla and Bharat ki Shaan.

He participated in reality shows like Bigg Boss 4 in 2010 and Welcome – Baazi Mehmaan – Nawaazi ki in 2013.

He has done music direction in many films and also sang in some Hindi movies including “Gangs of Wasseypur”. Besides acting in films, Manoj performs in stage concerts as well as performs in music albums. He is a star of international repute.

Political career:

  • In 2009 he filed nomination for 15th Loksabha election as a candidate for the Samajwadi Party in the Gorakhpur constituency. However he did not win from that seat. In 2014 general Loksabha election Manoj Tiwari elected from North East Delhi LokSabha constituency as a candidate from Bharatiya Janata party.
  • BJP chief Amit Shah on 30th November 2016 appointed party MPs Manoj Tiwari as party's Delhi unit president.
